Columbia SC Visitors Center

  • Collaborated with Midlands Authority CEO, CVB Executive Director and the contracted architect on the design and construction of the new Columbia SC Visitors Center to incorporate an environmental design that was on brand, as well as producing graphics and signage. Provided art and UI direction to external vendors for interactive touchscreens with visitor information.

  • I led project management on expanding the product offerings for the retail brick-and-mortar and the E-commerce store. Facilitated stakeholders through planning sessions to brainstorm ideas. Sourced and requested quotes for products. Collaborated with stakeholders on prioritizing lists to stay within budget. Our sales team utilized these same items as swag for industry trade shows.

  • I managed the process and designed the new Visitors Center Shopify e-commerce store, and managed the integration of a new Point-of-Sale payment system that would share the same inventory and sales data. I designed print-on-demand retail products to save on cost and limit inventory.

The Landmark Series t-shirt design was created specially for this initiative. I reached out to local designer, Nate Puza of the Half & Half to create a series that showed local landmarks, with a plan to add additional versions each year.

Overall, the online store has been very successful in reaching visitors and locals and has even been profitable in a year when it was closed to walking traffic during the pandemic.
